Icebreaker
Green Skills Treasure Hunt
Objective: To create an engaging ice breaking activity that introduces participants to the concept of green skills and promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Instructions:
- Divide the participants into small teams of 4-6 members.
- Provide each team with a list of green skills-related clues or questions.
- Explain that the teams need to work together to solve the clues and find the hidden "treasure" related to green skills.
- Encourage participants to use their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to decipher the clues and locate the treasure.
- The clues can be placed in different areas of the training room or around the VET center, incorporating elements of the center's sustainability initiatives or green practices.
- As the teams solve each clue and find the corresponding treasure, they should collect a puzzle piece or a specific item.
- Once all the clues are solved and treasures are found, teams will assemble the puzzle or arrange the collected items to reveal a message or image related to green skills.
- Facilitate a debriefing session where teams share their experiences, discuss the importance of green skills, and reflect on the teamwork and collaboration involved in completing the treasure hunt.
- Connect the activity to the module content by discussing how promotion and awareness of green skills contribute to fostering a culture of sustainability in VET centres.
- Transition to the training module by highlighting the learning objectives and competences that will be covered in the upcoming sessions.
