  • e-Governance: the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of governance related services.
  • Environmental Impact: the effect that human activity has on the environment. It can be either positive or negative, and can be caused by a variety of factors, such as the use of natural resources, the production of waste, and the release of pollutants. Environmental impacts can be felt locally, regionally, or globally, having immediate or long-term consequences.
  • Environmental Responsibility: the duty of individuals, organizations, and governments to protect the environment and to minimize their negative impact on it. It is the practice of making decisions and taking actions that consider the environmental impact of those decisions and actions.
  • Governance: is the process of making and enforcing decisions within an organization or society. It is the way rules, norms and actions are structured, sustained, regulated and held accountable. For the United Nations, it is “the process of steering an organization or society towards its desired goals and objectives".
  • Green Competences: the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that enable people to live, work, and act in a sustainable manner. They are essential for the transition to a green economy and for addressing the climate crisis, and are reflected in the GreenComp framework.
  • Policy: set of guidelines that are used to guide decisions and achieve rational outcomes. A policy is a statement of intent and is implemented as a procedure or protocol. Policies are generally adopted by a governance body within an organization.
  • Stakeholder: a person, group, or organization that has an interest in an organization or its activities, and that can affect or be affected by the achievement of an organization's objectives. Stakeholders can be internal or external to the organization.
  • Strategic Planning: the process of setting long-term goals for an organization and developing a plan to achieve those goals. It is a systematic approach to making decisions about the future of an organization. It involves defining the organization's mission, vision, and values; assessing the organization's current situation; identifying opportunities and threats; setting goals; and developing strategies to achieve those goals.
