Introduction & Learning Objectives

Planning within a strategy the acquisition and management of the human and financial resources needed to initiate and develop a project is crucial. This resource management process deserves even more attention when defining a green strategy within VET institutions.

In this module, innovative approaches will be proposed for transferring green competences to manage the human and financial resource sphere in VET institutions and promote their adoption and integration.

The importance of acquiring the necessary skills to provide financial and team resources that are one of the keys to success in implementing a green strategy will be analysed.

Learning objectives

In this module you will learn:

  1. Define the requirements for raising and managing finances in a green VET organisation
    • Recognising the characteristics of a funding modality within a strategy in line with the European green deal
    • Learn what The European Green Deal Investment Plan is
    • learn what The Just Transition Mechanism (JTM) is and what the main sources of funding are
  2. Define the changes in human resources management that VET institutions need to make
    • learn which "green" strategies and behaviours must be adopted in order to respect the planet and the well-being of workers.
    • learn how more "green" working environments can be defined, which impact on the experience and psychophysical well-being of employees who perceive an improvement in their working conditions
    • learn how to align employees' values and behaviour with the objectives of green strategies
    • understand the need within the HR function (green HR) to include the profile of the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) responsible for concretely supporting VET institutions in achieving their green goals.
    • understand how a green reorganisation of human resources management is an important lever for VET organisations to achieve a green reputation against competitors and for employees to become "employers of choice", who share the values and vision and thus become true brand ambassadors.
  3. Proposing green institutional changes
    • Promote and support adherence to the European Green Deal Investment Plan
    • Support the development of organizational processes that enhance green policies for VET institutions.
  4. Integrate the issue of human and financial resource management in teaching and training
    • Integrate the concept of green resource management in the teaching of project management applied to the disciplines of VET courses.
  5. Empower educators
    • Empower educators and staff in VET institutions with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage financial and human resources within a green strategy and apply the appropriate green policy.
