Introduction & Learning Objectives

In this Module, you will learn the need of implementation of green transition through professional development activities for Vocational Education and Training (VET) teachers and trainers. You will learn how to integrate sustainability in training and the importance of the improvement of the green competences for the professional development. Professional development usually focuses on pedagogical and didactic competences, but not in green competences. Competences covered by continuous professional development concern technical or subject-specific, pedagogical/didactic, transversal/cross cutting and is organised and provided in a wide variety of forms: courses, seminars, workshops, school networks, peer learning, master’s degree studies, thematic conferences, etc. The aim of this module is to improve green competences through professional development, which encompasses all actions and activities focused on education, training and development opportunities for professionals with the ultimate goal of improving educational outcomes in the scope of green sustainability.

  4. Define sustainable curriculum design and its importance in promoting environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
  5. Define the role of technology and online resources in promoting green education and sustainability.
  6. Identify various types of technology-driven approaches and online resources that support green education, including e-learning platforms, virtual reality, educational websites, and mobile apps.
  7. Define active learning and its significance in promoting engagement and deeper understanding in green education.
  8. Identify and describe various active learning strategies tailored to green education, such as project-based learning, case studies, field trips, and debates.
